Dirty Rocker Boys, by Bobbie Brown

An uncensored Hollywood tell-all filled with explicit tales of love, sex, and revenge from the video vixen made famous by Warrant’s rock anthem “Cherry Pie.”Who could forget the sexy “Cherry Pie” girl from hair metal band Warrant’s infamous music video? Bobbie Brown became a bona fide vixen for her playful role as the object of lead singer Jani Lane’s desires. But the wide-eyed Louisiana beauty queen’s own dreams of making it big in Los Angeles were about to be derailed by her rock-and-roll lifestyle. After her tumultuous marriage to Jani imploded, and her engagement to fast-living Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee ended in a drug haze—followed by his marriage later to Pamela Anderson—Bobbie decided it was time Hollywood’s hottest bachelors got a taste of their own medicine. Step one: get high. Step two: get even. In a captivating, completely uncensored confessional, Bobbie explicitly recounts a life among some of the most famous men in Hollywood: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, Mark McGrath, Dave Navarro, Sebastian Bach, Ashley Hamilton, Rob Pilatus of Milli Vanilli, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Orgy’s Jay Gordon, and many more. No man was off limits as the fun-loving bombshell spiraled into excess, anger, and addiction. Bobbie survived the party—barely—and her riveting, cautionary comeback tale is filled with the wildest stories of sex, drugs, and rock and roll ever told.

I was, and still am, a huge fan of Jani Lane. I purchased Bobbi's book primarily because I wanted to read about him. I wasn't really aware of her relationship with Tommy Lee, her addiction issues, or her wild Hollywood stories. I always just thought of her as "that lucky Cherry Pie girl that got to marry Jani Lane."After reading her book I realize how naive I was.I was lucky enough to meet Jani a few times after some Warrant shows back in the day. He was always sweet and treated his fans well. Some of the things Bobbi wrote about him were painful to read but I'm glad she shared her stories with us and I hope someday she will write in more detail about her relationship with him. I also hope that one day she will reveal the name(s) of the bastards that hurt Jani. Rock stars or not, they need to be called out.The book is a good read and I read most of it in one night. If you grew up in the days of metal/hair bands, you'll definitely enjoy this blast from the past.If Taylar or Madison read this, please know there are lots of people out here that love and miss your dad and still listen to his music. I wish you both love and peace.

.... Let's get this out the way- Bobbie's book is immature, it's shallow, it's trashy. She DOES come across as completely delusional( about her relationships, drug use and parenting choices) and she also accepts very little responsibility for anything including her failed career. However, I wasn't looking for some deep memoir about a drug addict redeemed. That's way I give it 5 stars. Bobbie's stories are gossipy, trashy, sometimes funny, but most of all GREAT entertainment. If you ever wondered what happened the cute sexy chic from the Cherry Pie video- or if you've ever read Motley Crue's "The Dirt" and just wanted to hear Bobbie's side of the story ( however delusional it may be) you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for something more reflective and affirming you've picked the wrong "berry" haha

I never knew about her life in detail. I just knew her as the girl in the cherry pie video and being linked to rockers. It's a quick read and fascinating. Horrible how she was so addicted to drugs. It sounds like she has found peace in her life. I wish her andJani could have made it. Too many demons he had. I saw him perform with Great White before he died. At the time, he sounded great and looked happy. LA lures people in and spits them out. True here.

I have to be captivated by a book during the first 20 or so pages or I'm finished. This book kept me interested from beginning to end.The glam rock culture is quite different from regular every day life for us regular folk. This book gives the reader a good idea of just how good normal life really is. All the while she's writing about loving this dude and that dude it was pretty apparent she was young and dumb. I don't think she ever really fell in love, but she certainly kept trying. I found myself judging her a few times, mostly about her and Jani's parenting.I'm paraphrasing, but she gives a really good piece of advice about not letting a man think he's everything you need because he will stop trying to win you. I think of all the things she learned and wrote about that piece of advice was the most profound. Two things I find myself still wondering a week after reading this: Why didn't Bobbie give up the names of the people that violated Jani?Too bad Dave Navarro was so strung out, and she was so naive because they may have actually made a good couple.

Sure, we all saw the Warrant video and remember when Janie Lane married the hot babe on the video. Then, the next 30 years passed and like hollywood,. nothing ever is as good as it seems on the billboard. Another demonstration why none of the members of Motley Crue should be alive today, with Bobbie dating and living with Tommy Lee for a a time, her addiction to drugs, amazing opportunities wasted, including a key roll in a Spielberg movie, due to same, and her ultimate recovery. Great read on the seamy side of the glam rock culture in the 80's, or the amazing side of you were above-noted musician.

Fascinating! I stumbled upon this in Kindle while looking at Neil Strauss books & am delighted that I bought it. I was barely familiar with only two or three of the people covered in it but of course was very familiar with the "character" known as Hollywood. As Bobbie and Caroline point out masterfully, the characters in Hollywood are constantly changing but the character known as Hollywood pretty much stays the same. For me, this was a splendid study in anthropology, psychology, and sociology. Bobbie and Caroline provide MASTERFUL insight. Every community of humans is a laboratory for studying every other community -- interpersonal dynamics etc. Hollywood is a caricature of every person who has ever lived and every community that has ever existed. Caricatures are great teachers of life lessons. This book provides Insights and lessons worth their weight in gold to each of us.
